When the San Francisco earthquake struck in 1989, we kept working, even though our offices were demolished and the partners worked to clear shipments from mobile phones in their cars, all the while looking for new office space. Four days after the earthquake, we were back operating at full strength.
Today, Messrs. Galaviz and Mylin have passed away, but Ted Mittelstaedt and his son, Edward, are both engaged in the leadership of the company.
We are Customs brokers and freight forwarders holding our FMC OTI license.
Key to our success are our people. Two of our employees have been with us for more than three decades each; two more have been with us for nearly a combined three decades themselves. That is experience that you cannot fabricate or pretend to have. Our customers and our employees have grown together, and for that we thank them both.
Four of our ten employees are licensed Customs brokers. We have a wealth of experience clearing cargo that is under the jurisdiction of specialized agencies such as the Food Safety Inspection Service (FSIS), the US Department of Agriculture, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Fish & Wildlife Service. Our staff has built years of knowledge in handling other unique commodities such as cookware, lumber, stone and tile and of course general cargo.
